VTech announces first Push-To-Talk DECT 6.0 Phones

vt

Back in mid December I reviewed the VTech LS6245 DECT Phone and I’m happy to say I like it very much, it’s in use now in my home. I like it quite a bit as does everyone else in my house actually. Today VTech has announced a new line of DECT phones with a Push-to-Talk feature built in and a range of 1,500 feet which is quite far really when it comes to in a house or an office really. The best thing about these phones is that they’re inexpensive, the most costly is a bundle of four handsets that sells for $89.95. There are several different bundles or choices some with answering machine built in and some without, they’re all list below in the official press release. If these are anything like the LS6245 that I reviewed then I can say that they’re worth the money..

VTech® Communications, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of VTech Holdings Ltd and the largest U.S. cordless phone manufacturer, today announced its new 2010 lineup with models all priced under $100. Coming to retailers and online in spring 2010, VTech’s newest offerings include the industry’s first push-to-talk DECT 6.0 system, delivering the fastest, clearest communication possible.

LS6325 Series: Instant Communication for Large Households and Small Offices

VTech’s new LS6325 cordless phones feature Push-to-Talk (PTT) functionality, which is ideal for larger households and small office users. A feature previously only offered on walkie-talkies and mobile phones, push-to-talk enables instant voice delivery through the handset speakerphone, eliminating disruptive shouting through the house and adding professionalism and speedier communication to small offices.

The LS6325 delivers talk range up to 1,500 feet, enabling users to roam throughout the house or office without losing calls. For further flexibility, each model in the series is expandable up to five handsets (using the LS6305 accessory handset, sold separately for $19.95).

True to VTech’s focus on delivering contemporary, stylistic products that feature the latest technology innovations, the LS6325 incorporates a sleek design with a low-profile handset keypad and metallic silver finishing with high-gloss black detailing. For "hands-free" conversations, the thin, curved handsets include speakerphones and backlit LCDs for easy viewing.

"More consumers are juggling hectic lives that require managing work at home, and everyone needs solutions for faster communications to simply get more things done," said Matt Ramage, senior vice president, product management, VTech Communications, Inc. "The LS6325 series meets the evolving needs of today’s fast-paced families and small offices with the latest in home communications – and it’s been done with style and affordability."

Available in three different product bundles, the three-handset LS6325-3 (MSRP: $79.95) and four-handset LS6325-4 (MSRP: $89.95) will be available at retail outlets in April 2010.

CS Series: Practically Functional

VTech is making it more affordable than ever for consumers to upgrade outdated landline phones to the latest DECT 6.0 platform. Also new in 2010, the VTech CS6319 and CS6329 provide clear, interference-free sound quality and allow users to operate multiple handsets simultaneously, including transferring and conferencing calls between handsets.

Available in a variety of multiple handset bundles, each of the VTech CS phones are expandable with up to five handsets using a single phone jack. Additional handsets can be placed anywhere in the home or office, helping users avoid the room-to-room dash to answer a ringing phone.

Other helpful features include a large, easy-to-read backlit LCD display, a handset speakerphone and a glossy crystal keypad with green backlighting. Available in the spring, VTech’s CS series phones come with or without digital answering systems and are all affordably priced at under $60.

In addition, new VTech’s 2010 DECT cordless phones now feature 7-day, 7-hour battery performance. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, VTech’s 2010 DECT phones are ENERGY STAR® certified and RoHS compliant. VTech phone packaging also uses 100-percent recyclable materials and feature FDA-approved aqueous coating that eliminates hazardous chemicals.
