Nero, creators of liquid media technology, announced today that Nero users can enjoy their favorite Nero products on the Windows® 7 operating system. With the availability of Windows 7, Nero customers can immediately install Nero 9 “Reloaded” or Nero BackItUp & Burn to access enhanced features and functionalities for creating their digital media projects or securing important files.

Both Nero 9 Reloaded, launched recently online and in retail, and Nero BackItUp & Burn have received the Compatible with Windows 7 logo from Microsoft, which ensures that both products have passed compatibility tests to Microsoft’s standards. With an emphasis on simplicity and enabling consumers to do more, Nero has incorporated features into both products that help users get where they want to go faster.

Nero is also offering OEM customers Nero 9 Essentials; the OEM version of the Nero 9 integrated digital media and home entertainment software suite, with Windows 7 compatibility. Recently announced Nero partner Acer Group will bundle Nero 9 Essentials with Windows 7 compatibility on all desktop systems sold globally. These systems include the Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell, and eMachines brands and the Packard Bell and Gateway business model notebooks, which all come with the Windows 7 operating system.

“Achieving the Windows 7 compatibility logo lets us integrate Nero products with the compatible hardware that customers depend on in their day-to-day business as well as at home,” said Kris Barton, EVP, Global Products, Nero AG. “We are confident that users will find the features available in Nero 9 Reloaded an ideal complement to the Windows 7 operating system.”

Current Nero 9 and Nero BackItUp & Burn users can update to the latest version with Windows 7 compatibility free of charge at www.nero.com. Previous Nero suite users can also upgrade to Nero 9 Reloaded at a special discount. For more information about Nero and Nero products, visit www.nero.com.
