News

Well it’s Sunday, very early, 9 minutes after 12 as I’m typing this actually. I was supposed to be done with all of this on Saturday actually but I have one more review coming yet for you of a graphics tablet from Genius. I’ll be going to bed after posting this news and then early tomorrow I’ll post the next review. After that review though I don’t think you’ll be hearing much more from me, it’s been fun….

Verbatim Store’n’Go Netbook USB 16 GB

Link: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Verbatim/Store_n_Go_Netbook_USB_16GB

Brief: The Verbatim Store’n’Go Netbook USB drive is so small that you can plug it into your netbook and just leave it in there. So this is a dead easy way to expand the onboard storage – especially for those first or second generation netbooks with very limited and usually very slow internal flash/SSD storage.

Crucial M4 / Micron C400 256GB SSD Review @ Legit Reviews
Article URL: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1583/1/

"The Crucial m4 SSD will be available in several capacities from 64 GB to 512 GB and all should be available this month although pricing is MIA at the moment. Our 256 GB drive rated for up to 415 MB/s reads and 260 MB/s writes which is a little behind that of the Intel 510 Series drive which uses the same Marvell controller – although the m4 utilizes eight channels while the Intel uses ten. Obviously, the firmware employed by each differs and the benchmarks will bear out how they perform in comparison…"

Seagate GoFlex Slim 320GB Portable Drive.

It seems that Seagate are continuously pushing the boundaries of exactly what an external drive can be. Not all that long ago they released the GoFlex brand which instantly revolutionized the portable storage niche with its ability to change the interface it required with almost no effort. Then they pushed the limits of 2.5" capacity with their release of 1.5TB GoFlex beast and the competition trembled. Well Seagate are back again and this time they have their sites firmly placed on changing our expectations of how small a 2.5" hard drive based external storage device can be with their all new Seagate 320GB GoFlex Slim. Today we are going to see exactly what makes the GoFlex Slim special and whether or not it is worth your hard earned dollars!

Intel 310 Series SSD – 80GB miniPCIe Review @ HardwareHeaven.com
"Intel’s recently released 310 Series SSDs take a different approach to the other models in their product catalogue. The 310 series is based on a mini-PCIe technology, is a similar size to a laptop Wi-Fi adapter but still claims desktop like performance. Today we take a look at the 80GB model to find out what it offers the market in a selection of real world and synthetic tests against a standard 5400rpm laptop drive."

Nokia C7: Beautiful = Forgivable @ InsideHW

Article link: http://www.insidehw.com/Reviews/Gadgets/Nokia-C7-Beautiful-=-Forgivable.html

It might seem that we were too harsh towards the last Nokia model we’ve reviewed, namely their flagship model N8. Yet we were as harsh as the phone deserved us to be. There can be no compromise with the flagship model; some things just aren’t forgivable. And while N8 had been hyped up beyond any justification more than six months before it actually hit the market, the press release concerning Nokia’s other three new models went rather unnoticed – C6-01, C7 and E7 didn’t seem to have caught anyone’s attention. The C-series has always been treated by Nokia as the “entrance” category, the initial step into the phone world. Roughly translated into numbers from the previous era, the C-series would cover models marked 1xxx to 5xxx. There’s even a division within the C-series itself, with models from C5 upwards being smartphones with the Symbian operating system. The currently leading model from the C-series, namely C7, is supposedly Nokia’s last model based on the S³ platform…

Dell Venue Android Smartphone Review
http://hothardware.com/Reviews/Dell-Venue-Smartphone-Review/

Just a few years ago, virtually no one thought Dell would venture into the smartphone business. With the exception of a few stand-outs, Dell has always been fairly conservative with their products and had never really strayed too far from the PC and its associated peripherals and accessories, although they did make a few slick PDAs back in their heyday. Dell’s been mobile for years, however, and the Adamo XPS showed that the company’s design squad is certainly capable of producing some world-class, ultra-mobile hardware. But Dell smartphone? As strange as it may have sounded just a few years ago, the company has launched a full-on assault into the handset market, and not a minute too soon.

Funky Kit Article – Video Cards Explained

Everyone wants a video card with more ram, a faster frequency, more cuda cores, more stream processors, but do people often know what all of these things actually do? To most they are merely things you compare from one product to another in order to make a relatively informed decision, while not fully knowing what they are for. Sure a 950mhz core clock speed sounds good with 2gb of 5000mhz ddr5 ram, but what does that mean when comparing it to something on a completely different architecture? Read on and you will find out.
