PC Games Hardware has tested the performance of several graphics cards in Modern Warfare 2. While the Radeon HD 5870 is fastest card in our benchmarks, Nvidia’s Geforces are doing extremely well and often beat their Ati counterparts.

TweakTown System Builders Guides (SBG) are back!
QUOTE: "Long time TweakTown readers will remember our "SBG" or System Builders Guides section that was a popular feature on our website some years ago. It was retired for reasons I cannot exactly remember right now, but we are very happy to announce that as of today SBG v2 is up and running! It looks and works much better than the first version of the past.
For one, from our prospective, it is much easier to update and maintain using our swish back-end system – that may be one of the reasons the first version was taken offline. The second, from a user point of view, the pricing is dynamic and updates in real-time. Unfortunately not all products are listed on PriceGrabber (our price search engine partner), so some of the prices are added in manually, but many are updated dynamically providing you with the latest information."

Excerpt:
"The 5870 CF tandem puts up good performance. As we can see, it sometimes outperforms GTX 295 Quad SLI. Considering all innovations, including DX11, we can say that it’s the most powerful duo with the most 3D features these days."

Title: Shoggy Sandwich
Text:
In a liquid cooling setup, the pump is often one of the noisiest components. Even if the pump doesn’t produce much operational sound of it’s own, most pumps produce quite strong vibrations. These vibrations can carry over to your case and cause annoying buzzing sounds. The best way to get rid of such vibration noises is to effectively decouple the pump from the case. This is exactly what the Shoggy Sandwich was made for. In this video, you’ll see how a Shoggy Sandwich works and we’ll put it to the test to see how well it can reduce pump-noise.

Title: Verbatim TUFF-’N’-TINY 4GB USB Drive @ MobilityDigest

Quote:
" So today for review I’ve got one of the smallest USB drives you can get, the Tuff-‘n’-Tiny 4gb USB drive from Verbatim. It’s not only tiny, a little over 1 inch in length but it’s also tough in that it’s resistant to dust, water and even static. Physical size and capacity don’t mean much though if it’s not a good performer so I’ve put it up against a few other 4gb flash drives I’ve got on hand for comparison, so read on to learn more about a great little USB drive…"

DFI LANParty DK P55-T3eH9 Motherboard
QUOTE: "As we all know (by now), DFI is a manufacturer known for stuffing in as many overclocking options as they can in their motherboards. They became famous on the back of the nForce 4 LANParty boards. These were some of the best boards for AMD overclocking that you could buy. DFI has continued this mindset and still offer some of the most “tweakable” boards out.
So, what of the P55? DFI has finally released its own P55 based board. This is the LANParty DK P55-T3eH9; a board that could possibly allow you to push a Core i5 or Core i7 800 to its maximum potential. The new DK P55-T3eH9 offers many of DFI’s trademark features like Digital PWM, Sintered HeatPipes, CMOS Reloaded and of course their Genie BIOS."

TITLE: Xigmatek Midgard-W Computer Case Review @ Benchmark Reviews

DESCRIPTION: Xigmatek – A name that needs no introduction, But the first things that come to mind are CPU coolers, Right? A relatively young company, founded in 2005, Xigmatek has made some great quality coolers, 2 of which featured and performed very well in the Q2 best CPU cooler performance review here at Benchmark Reviews, Today’s review focuses on the Xigmatek Midgard CPC-T55DB-U02 Computer Case, Big on features and while not an overly expensive case it is still closer to the top end of what I would call a Budget case. Tool free design, Midgard-W was designed by gaming and cooling thinking within tool-free hard drives and add-on card installation, easy installation CPU cooler back plate window, four pipe holes for water cooling system and seven cooling fan space at most. This case is certainly beautiful to look at, but looks are for the vain, Features and quality are essential to the success of a product. Will you be using this case in your next build? ! Come and take a closer look to see if this is the case ticks all the boxes for You.

TITLE: VIZO Arius Ex @ LanOC Reviews
DESCRIPTION: Hardware limitations are a problem that are often encountered in any media PC environment. That limit could be a memory capacity or perhaps running out of hard drive bays in your case. Or maybe you’re just sick of constantly removing a side panel to swap hard drives. The perfect solution in all the cases above is an internal hard drive rack. These convenient pieces of expansion hardware allow a user to spend a 5.25" bay and convert it to an additional 3.5" hard drive bay. VIZO Technology Corp has sent us their 3.5" contender in the Arius line, the Arius EX, to test.

XClio Godspeed One Advanced Mid Tower Case
QUOTE: "This time around XClio sent me a chassis with the budget builder in mind. Keeping a few tricks from its much larger brother, the chassis I’m about to show isn’t a completely stripped out shell. I have seen quite a few sub $50 chassis’ that aren’t much more than four walls, a roof and a floor. Sometimes they have fans, sometimes they have a window, and when you get really lucky, you can even get some LED lighting. This chassis from XClio isn’t just budget, it houses all three of those things and still leaves you a bit of change for drinks after the build.
Today we are looking at the Godspeed One Advanced from XClio, one of four chassis’ in the Godspeed lineup. Two of those are more basic builds and concepts, while the Advanced chassis keeps a few tricks of the more expensive chassis, and still can be had at a reasonable price."

Fairytale Fights for Xbox 360 Reviewed

Coming by way of Playlogic Entertainment, Fairytale Fights is the answer to a question that no one asked. In a nutshell, this action-adventure title for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 takes many classic fairy tales and turns them on their heads. Or rather, it slices off their heads and lets the crimson geyser gush in every which direction.

ECS P55H-A Motherboard Review

This board performs great, with performance in the same class as other motherboards in this chipset. Overclocking was a bit of a mixed bag as the 750 CPU was able to overclock to 4GHz without issue but the voltage options did not allow me to see what the new voltage would be. From a features point of view the board is a standard P55 board but for $100 on Newegg after mail-in rebate this is an acceptable compromise as many other boards are much more expensive. The layout of the 8-pin power connector and IDE are interesting with only the 8-pin power connector in a great position for the bottom mounted PSU but not so great for the top mounted PSU.

Synology Disk Station DS409slim NAS Enclosure Review

While most NAS enclosures get a little bit on the bulky side of things, the Synology Disk Station DS409 Slim is about as compact as it gets, especially when you consider that it houses four hard drives in total. It also comes with a number of handy features that you may not find elsewhere.

Retail Electronics Buying Tips: Coupons, Sales and Bargaining Tactics
"Even the most Internet-savvy shoppers need to venture to retail stores once in a while. Whether for a last-minute gift, an item you just can’t bear to wait for in the mail, or a device you need to see in person, brick-and-mortar outlets continue to offer a handful of indisputable advantages over Internet buying."

Augmented Reality Past, Present and Future: How It Impacts Our Lives
"Can’t stop hearing about it in the news, but wondering what makes "augmented reality" (AR) – the concept of overlaying computerized information, digital pop-up windows and/or virtual reality (VR) displays over real-world scenes and imagery – so exciting? Allow us to paint a picture. Imagine. You walk up to an airport terminal and breeze past the airline check-in. Afterwards, a wireless chip in your smartphone uses biometrics to verify your identity at a checkpoint, then a green arrow pops up and shows you the best path to the gate. When you get there, a blue circle shows you where to sit and helps you avoid the most common congestion points. You wait about five minutes until a soft chime tells you to get in line. The total time between drop-off and take-off: Just 20 minutes."

Publishers and Booksellers Rally to Support eBooks and eReaders
"Lovers of all things printed, bound and published have a new literary hopeful hovering over their heads. But rather than the next Stephen King or J.K. Rowling, it’s the electronic reading device known as the eReader. Thankfully, while Johannes Gutenberg may be rolling his eyes from beyond the grave at the concept of digital tablets that display virtual volumes known as eBooks, the reality is that we’re potentially standing on the cusp of an industrial revolution. Better yet, even the field’s formerly staunchest holdouts – newspaper, book and magazine publishers – are finally waking up and embracing the technology’s potential in growing numbers."
